The disappointment that is Milly + Banana Republic

(To me)
The most important thing
(besides how beautiful it is)
in a inexpensive retailer and fashion designer collaboration is the price point.

Affordability.

$140 for a summer mini-dress isn't affordability
and that's just what Milly for Banana Republic has given us.
I am a huge fan of Milly.
I love everything it represents
(bright colors, floral patterns, and fun ladylike fashion)

However, (to me) this collaboration was a total disappointment.
The shorts were very J. Crew-ish, the dresses were odd patterns, the accessories were very cheap looking and the overall vibe wasn't half as great as last year's Trina Turk for Banana Republic collab.
(which I loved!)

I do like this dress and only because it is an exact replica of last season's
(which happened to be my best friend Amy's graduation party dress!)

Milly Bari Colorblock Maxi $485 (sold out)
Milly + Banana Republic Colorblock Maxi $165

Did you like the new collab looks or were you disappointed?

Thank God For Friends and Family (Discount)

I missed out on a really fun weekend trip to the UGA/Auburn game last weekend due to Vertigo.  Has anyone ever had this? Shout out to my BFFS: Sarah, Banks and Marjorie- so sad I missed y’all!

Anyways, I was in need of a major pick me up.  Luckily, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor LOFT, Banana Republic, and GAP were all having their Friends and Family Discount (30% or more off!!!) this weekend.

I went in strictly looking for sweaters.  I have really been on a mission for large (inexpensive) chunky sweaters.  I need sweaters that I could throw on with pants for work or jeans for weekend wear.

Unfortunately (for my bank account) but fortunately (for my closet)- I came out with SO much more.  Here are my top three picks from my purchases:

Banana Republic Lily Leopard Tablet Case- I didn’t even know this was a tablet case until I saw it online.  I am totally going to ignore that part and use it as a cute envelope clutch! I am pairing it with a black cocktail dress, gorgeous necklace, and pumps for a wedding I am attending Saturday night.

Banana Republic Textured Sweater Cape (in snow white)- This fits perfectly.  I have tried on several poncho/cape like sweaters this season and this one is truly a dream.  I wore it yesterday and got a million complements! It is a bit of a splurge- but I definitely think it is worth it!
Gap Studio Sweater- The color selection for this sweater is truly amazing! 10 different colors to choose from- where will you even begin? I picked out the lush green (for my Foo-Foo as I am her personal shopper).  I really don't think you can go wrong here- as they are ultra comfortable!

LUCKILY for you, I got a little promo in my inbox yesterday from Banana Republic/Gap/Old Navy to share for 30% off (and 35% off if you have a BR/Gap/Old Navy card) .
Use: GETSTARTED at checkout.  Online only.

P.S- get those booties from Banana Republic I posted on Monday!

Winter Must Haves!

Since we don’t have much of a Fall here in Dallas, there’s no point in talking about it or shopping for it!  It was above 80 degrees everyday last week and tonight it is suppose to freeze!  We are waking up today to 38 degree temps! I think all my Mother’s plants I am plant-sitting are dead.  Sorry about your azaleas, Barbie.  Anyways, I wanted to share a few things that I want have to have for winter:

  J. Crew Bow Coat in Vibrant Fuchsia- Why You Need This: you need a new winter coat- it is 38 degrees out! And with a vibrant color like this, anyone would take a second look at you. So chic and ladylike!

MICHAEL by Michael Kors Faux-Fur-Collar Poncho- Why You Need This: a great basic poncho and a detachable fur collar.  I love the grey “Pearl” color but if you don’t have a basic camel poncho- this is the must have!

7 For All Manking Skinny Amber High Gloss Snake-Print Jeans- Why You Need These: Ohhh my! Why don’t you need these? Thanks to my BFF Kirstin S.- these are already in my closet.  They are so fashion forward.  You can dress them up with a blazer and booties for work- or dress them for a night on the town with a leather top and some high-heeled boots!

The Loft Peplum Hem ¾ Sleeve Sweater - Why You Need This: Because it will go perfect with the jeans above, of course! AND you can pair it with every single pair of pants in your closet.

Banana Republic Sydney Ruffle Bootie- Why You Need These: Assuming you already have black booties- these gorgeous ones in “Sahara” could really add so many options to your wardrobe.  Wait for BR to send out a promo and get them with % off!

I hope I have convinced you to add at least one of these items to your shopping list so you can look ultra chic for these chilly temperatures!!!

XOXO
