HELMUT Helmut Lang

Helmut Lang has been one of my favorite contemporary designers for some time now...
Helmut is known for his minimalist, deconstructionist, and often severe designs.
His fashion house became famous in the late 1980s for its simple but refined designs, its slim suits in black or white, its denim collection, and the use of high-tech fabrics.
Although Helmut left the fashion house in 2005, the designer's brand still exists with tremendous success today!

HELMUT Helmut Lang
is
The Simple Statement
The secondary collection by Helmut to take a casual approach to minimalism
and it is BOMB!

Take a look at a few of my favorite things...

The Gala Combo Mini Dress ($296) is perfect to go from the office with a blazer to a cocktail party with some sexy heels!
The Breeze Slouchy Pocket Dress ($184) is the easiest dress you'll ever own. Matches everything and every occasion!

The Villous Jersey Jacket ($196) shown here in black and wharf is like the best basic jacket you'll find all season. Cozy, yet on trend, you will find yourself wearing this jacket every day of the week!

Show Stopper:

This Leather Shirtdress ($895) will stop anybody dead in their tracks.
It is so fabulously designed and fits like a glove.
SO FIERCE!

Want a black skirt you could wear at least twice a week to work with ANYTHING in your closet see this black jersey skirt ($98!)
What about a black long sleeve drape dress ($240) that hides all your flaws?!?
OR leggings ($230) that fit like they were made for you????
I'll stop now...but seriously I want everything!

HELMUT. ALL. DAY. EVERY. DAY.

Oh my BLUE! Emmy's Red Carpet Recap

BLUE
said it all this Emmy's!

Everyone is talking about the blue trend this morning after the 2013 Emmy's last night!
All different shades and styles, Hollywood was workin' the blue!

Zooey Deschanel, usually clad in prints, wears a simple yet elegant J. Mendel blue dress that is absolutely gorgeous on her!
Maria Menounos sports a midnight blue Zac Posen dress (a popular Emmy's red carpet designer this year!) but what REALLY sticks out is her fabulous jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.
Tina Fey looked amazing in a tight fitting Narciso Rodriguez gown. Great to see this hilarious comedian show off her feminine side!
Rocsi Diaz KILLS it in this cobalt blue number...Michael Costello custom made this mermaid gown just for her.
Jessica Pare- wears Oscar de la Renta, O M G. This turquoise color is to die for!

another trend seems to be...
See-through?

Julianne Hough wears a Jenny Packman gown
 &
Lena Headey wears a Alessandra Rich dress

Both proving that there is a right way to do sheer
{if you have a killer body!}

Some actresses preferred to slay the red carpet with the neutrals, looking sassy and sexy in
time-less gowns in subtle colors!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus mixed sparkle and shine in this stunning Monique Lhuillier number!
Julie Bowen's gown might of had a little too much fabric, but I still LOVED the Zac Posen dress.
Kate Mara looks so. darn. good. She has a fantastic body and totally rocked this J. Mendel white ensemble!
Taylor Schilling wears this white custom Thakoon halter-neck gown with a huge thigh- high center slit. She also kills it in these Stuart Weitzman heels, I am dying for!

Lastly...
the absolute BEST DRESSED of the evening...

Claire Danes wears a faux bob and an Armani Prive gown,
that could have worn an Emmy itself.
She took the plunge forward and backward, leaving the competition speechless!!!
I LOVE this gown!

Happy after-Emmy's Monday!

This Cocktail Dress calls for...

This dress is too perfect for words.
The structure is amazing, tight at the top, but cinching in more at the waist and a little flare for the skirt.

The dress itself calls for a glass of Bubbly...

was a gift by the bride-to-be
{Christal}
and well, she knows the way to my heart!

{find it at Target and buy 6+ bottles for a discount!}

Cheers to a new fav dress + new fav bubbly!

Little Miss Wade's Review of 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

I mentioned Target's latest designer collaboration with 3.1 Phillip Lim here, when I was talking about how fabulous their fall collection was.

WELL, turns out the Target collab wasn't quite as fab...

I am beginning to think that all of these high fashion collaborations with department stores are going downhill.
and quick.

The designs by Phillip Lim for the Target collection are, well pretty cute.
Like, I was dying for the cheetah sweater below!

However... I was terribly disappointed as my bestie and I rushed to Target in a panic to grab up everything we could...not disappointed because it wasn't on the shelves...because it definitely was...but because it was terrible quality.

The cute fun bright cheetah sweater in pictures... looks like it could be found at the clearance rack of JCP in real life.
The material is so thin...
#heartbroken

and then there were the purses, that looked similar to the 3.1 Phillip Lim bags...but more like fake handbags!

Overall, I think it was sort of a bust.
I mean almost everything is still available...

I did, however, pick up one score of a comfy fall sweater by Mossimo that I am REALLY obsessed with... so my trip to Target wasn't a total waste.
Look at this fabulous long open cardigan with navy piping, so chic!!!
Mossimo Cardigan- $34.99

Don't hold your breath for the next designer collab...nothing will ever beat Missoni for Target!

At least I got my Mossimo cardigan!

Rag & Bone Booties (and look for less!)

Everyone knows that
Rag & Bone booties
are like ultra urban bad gal chic.

I think that a pair of these are essential in a fall wardrobe.
They are going from urban trendy to classic utilitarian
{yet so very chic}.
They are a little pricey ($495-$595) but a great investment you will wear season after season!

If you are looking for the look for less, look no further than our bestie, Madewell.
The Barnwood Boot in "Golden Spinach"
are a fabulous replacement
{for half the price!}

Keep your eyes on the prize...Booties for fall!

Someone I'm obsessed with:

Eddie Borgo
You would have seen him first in Vogue in 2009
then..
you saw him as runner up for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2010
...and just this year...
you saw Miley Cyrus win best dressed at the Met Gala dripping in Eddie Borgo.

Eddie is the bomb.com
We met a few months ago and were quick friends,
He is always sporting a fedora and he is so precious and fun.

His designs are even MORE fun.
There's just something about a collection that mixes costume jewelry, rock and roll, and the history of NYC.
It's a recipe for some kick @$$ jewelry.

Eddie Borgo Rose Gold Pyramid Tennis Bracelet via Neiman Marcus
I've been wearing this rose gold piece all summer and mixing it with all my gold and silver jewelry.
It's. So Cool.

Obviously, it's even cooler when it's all stacked up!

Layer it up, gold, silver, rose gold, black...
it's all amazingly edgy, cool, modern, new and ever-changing.

View Eddie Borgo's full collection via Neiman Marcus or his home page here!

After all, if Blake Lively loves it, we all love it!

The Skinny on the BEST Jeans

Goodbye Summer
(and summer vacation)
...Hello Fall!

Well...fall will come, but will fall weather ever come?
When you're in Texas, you are sweating till about Christmas.

A staple in any fall closet is a good pair of jeans.
{you've heard my spill on J Brand love storys}
It really doesn't matter the cut, color, style, brand, or anything it just needs to be something that you are really comfortable in and that you love.

You want to be able to wear them with a tank top and flip flops in September and a chunky sweater and boots in December.
I'm all about versatility, baby!

Lately, I am super obsessed with Rag and Bone skinny jeans.
I have the dark (but not too dark) Skinny Jeans and I could wear them everyday of my life!
They are comfortable, relaxed, yet dressy enough to wear with a blazer.

Rag & Bone THE Skinny Jean- $176
A good pair of skinnies are a must and these fit everyone wonderfully.
My bestie is a 24 and she rocks them.
I am a...well...not a 24 and they fit me like a glove!

So that's the skinny on the jeans (ha!)
